My sister in law is about the same size and rode her Savage all over the western US and Canada. They camp and she finally ended up with a 800 Suzuki Shaft drive, but she kept the Savage as she really likes it for most of her trips. If you take the MSF course you will get to use current 250's and that may help you decie what is best for you. Max
